Q: How was Kate Farms Komplete created?
A: The Founders of Kate Farms, Richard and Michelle Laver, were looking for a solution for their daughter Kate, born with advanced cerebral palsy, because she could not eat solid food. At the age of 5, Kate was only 16 pounds and her health was failing. They needed a solution.
Working with a team of doctors, registered dieticians and vegan chefs at Loma Linda University Medical Center, they worked to create what is now known as Kate Farms Komplete. After consuming four Komplete meal Replacement Shakes per day for four years, Kate, at 9 years old, is happy, healthy and thriving. Q. Can Kate Farms Komplete be used for tube feeding?
A: Kate Farms Komplete can be used as tube feeding via gravity drip, pump or bolus method of administration. To prevent the tube from clogging, it is imperative to flush the tube with water before and after feeding, as well as before, between, and after administration of medications.1
Q: How long can I store an open container of Kate Farms Komplete when I’m using it for tube feeding?
A: Once a container is opened, unused portions should go directly into the refrigerator with the cap put back on and used within 96 hours.

Q: Can I drink Kate Farms Komplete while I’m pregnant?*
A: Kate Farms Komplete may be suitable for pregnant women in addition to consuming a well-balanced diet.* Kate Farms Komplete provides the extra calories, protein, fat, vitamins and minerals pregnant women need. Most women need an extra 300 calories per day, 75 to 100 grams of protein per day, extra fiber to prevent constipation, and additional vitamins and minerals.3 All of which can be found in Kate Farms Komplete.
Q: Can I drink Kate Farms Komplete while I’m receiving chemotherapy?*

Q: Is Kate Farms Komplete suitable for diabetics?*
A: Kate Farms Komplete may be used as a meal replacement by diabetic patients.* One 11oz container equals three carbohydrate exchanges. Many diabetic diets contain three to five carbohydrate exchanges per meal.Kate Farms Komplete is 55% carbohydrate, and many diabetic diets are between 45-55% carbohydrates. The fiber present in Kate Farms Komplete may also help with blood sugar control.4
Q: How much caffeine is in Kate Farms’ Coffee product?
A: Kate Farms Coffee contains 80 milligrams of caffeine per 11oz serving. An 8 ounce cup of coffee provides 100-150 mg of caffeine.
Q. Is there Caffeine in the Chocolate and Vanilla Flavours?
A: There are 3.8 mg of caffeine per 11oz container in the Chocolate flavour and no caffeine in the Vanilla flavour.
Q. Why does Komplete contain carrageenan, isn’t it bad for the body?
A. Carrageenan from seaweed is not the same as synthetically produced poligeenan. Studies have shown that poligeenan is absorbed into the body and may result in toxic effects. On the other hand, studies done on carrageenan indicate that it passes through the body and is not absorbed.
Q. Is Agave really a healthy sweetener?
A. Organic blue agave is produced without the use of toxic chemical pesticides, herbicides, fungicides and genetically modified seeds. For these reasons agave is a far superior choice when compared to other sweeteners like high fructose corn syrup.
